We got 20 minutes in and ended up not watching it. I expected a fun heist movie based on the trailer, but this isn't it. The movie starts off with a weird Hugh Grant monologue that sounds like he's reading off a manuscript for a play, and that scene is also filmed like it's a play. The film is extremely slow and annoyingly verbose. Also, the person who was in charge of sound/volume didn't pick up that the dialogue is at a very low level of volume in comparison to sound effects and background music. I had to keep modulating our volume on the TV. They throw f-bombs every 3 words, which I'm assuming is supposed to make it artsy and edgy and mature, but it's just annoying. But it was Matthew McConaughey who stole the show as a brutal, yet affable, drug kingpin who doesn't take too kindly to those who try to cheat him. I'm glad I bought it, rather than rented it, because this is one we'll definitely be watching again. And again.
